Captain Fawcett 4WD Track
The easy to medium grade 4WD section starts within Lane Poole Conservation Reserve, Dwellingup. Much of the track runs along old rail embankments where the timber trains once hauled the forest trees into various mills. Length 105kms Duration approx 3hours. Start point - Dawn Creek Road/Nanga Road intersection (approx. 3kms past Old Nanga Townsite) End point - Quindanning
Dams Around Dwellingup
South Dandelup Dam - is one of the largest dams supplying Perth. Its natural beauty, tall trees, abundant bird life and location close to the historic town of Dwellingup make it a popular year-round destination. Equipped with free gas barbecues and picnic tables and fully marked walk trails.
North Dandalup Dam - the river forms a series of rapids, small waterfalls and deep still pools. In winter it can be a raging torrent, and in summer a limpid stream to swim, canoe or fish in. Equipped with free gas barbecues and picnic tables and walk trails.
Oakley Dam - take a walking trail into the cool forest to view a beautiful waterfall, wonderful wildflowers and panoramic views.Some of the flora you will see inclde Blue squill, tiny star and donkey orchids, golden dryandra and sea urchin hakea.
Hotham Valley Railway
The Etmilyn Forest Train departs Dwellingup station 11am & 2pm Saturday, Sunday & Pub Hols
Also the Etmilyn Diner -Enjoy a five course meal in a dining car or club car, cooked by wood stove onboard, as the train meanders through the night forest which is softly floodlit from the train. The Etmilyn operates every Saturday night & selected Fridays Bookings essential

Marrinup POW Campsite
When Australia went to war in 1939, a labour shortage resulted that, by 1942 had reached crisis point. Success in the war meant that 250,000 prisoners needed to be secured. Therefore, an agreement was reached with Britain and Prisoners of War (POW’s) were shipped from Libya and India to assist the Australian workforce, particularly rural areas.
Remember: be careful - walk softly, this is a fragile historic site. Please keep off foundations. Be clean - please take your litter with you, be cool - don’t light fires except in fireplaces provided be wise - leave this natural environment as you find it for all to enjoy. Please don’t pick wildflowers.
