Welcome to the 2011 edition of the Dwellingup 100 MTB classic, “WA’s Premier MTB Event” and the official home of the West Australian Marathon Championships. Once again we have been working hard behind the scenes to bring you an even more enjoyable MTB experience on SATURDAY September 17, 2011.

This year not only are we looking to improve the course, but we are looking to improve the event as a whole, so we are working with the Dwellingup Community to get them involved and make the event bigger and better.

In 2011 the Dwellingup Community are going to provide more for both participants and spectators. For participants they will be supporting you by hosting a pre event 'Power Pasta Night' and post event holding a Dwellingup 'Bush Dance' After Party! For the spectators, special Saturday Market Stalls are going to be organised, the local RSL will be providing morning tea (Fresh Scones, Jam and Cream) as well as some other 'typically Dwellingup' activities.

We think its a great initiative to get the local community involved and they love having the opportunity to be involved in the event that invades their town once a year! We hope that you will get on board and support the community that supports your love for mountain biking.

Once again Tony Tucknott, the D100 Race Director, is working hard to make sure the course is in tip top condition. He is working with the Department of Environment and Conservation to realign about 10kms of the Munda Biddi Trail. This takes the Munda Biddi (and D100) away from the Oakley Dam area and motor cycle area at the top of the hill. It also takes out 2 major climbs and adds a lot more single track to the course (fun, fun, fun).

The website has been updated with relevant information for the 2011 event and will continue to be updated as information becomes available. Entrys will be open soon - sign up for our newsletter and you will be notified on all the updates and when entrys open.

Train hard and we look forward to seeing everyone at the D100 on Saturday 17th September 2011.

Muscular Dystrophy Association of WA

Muscular Dystrophy WA’s RIDE FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN’T challenge at the Dwellingup 100 MTB Classic was an overwhelming success in 2010. We need the help of the Perth Mountain Biking community to assist us in making it an even bigger success in 2011!

Muscular Dystrophy WA challenges you to RIDE FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN’T at the Dwellingup 100 MTB Classic in September. We challenge you to join the team and take on the 40km or 100km track. You will be riding for someone living with muscular dystrophy. You will be a part of an amazing team that will enjoy both the challenge of the ride and the challenge of raising much-needed funds to support Western Australians living with muscular dystrophy.

Western Australians living with muscular dystrophy face daily challenges – their muscles waste away and steal their independence, they are confined to electric wheelchairs because they can no longer walk and each day, it becomes more difficult for them to breathe.

There is no cure for muscular dystrophy, but there is hope. Right now, Muscular Dystrophy WA and the Perth-based Australian Neuromuscular Research Institute are on the verge of groundbreaking clinical trials that could change, and literally save, the lives of boys diagnosed with Duchenne – the most common and severe form of muscular dystrophy.

Please help us help those with this devastating disease and RIDE FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN’T.
Together, we WILL beat muscular dystrophy.

P.S. You can still fundraise without joining the Ride For Someone Who Can’t Team, it’s as easy as creating a fundraising page and sending it out to your networks.
